Something really special happened to my family earlier this year. Something magical. A dream came true, and I am so honored to have a front seat! My beautiful sister finally got to meet her little bundle of joy; the baby she’s prayed for and dreamed about for years.
I was quite literally giddy the day she called and said, “We matched, we were chosen.” The serviceman in the house had to ask what was going on because I was running around the house squealing uncontrollably. My five year old finally had to say, “Okay Momma, calm down.”
I never struggled to have my babies, they pretty much just came when I wanted them. But I know that’s not the case for everyone. I know it’s sometimes a really long and painful road, one that doesn’t always end up like expected.
My sweet niece could not be more amazing. She’s the best baby I’ve ever been around. The tiniest little cry, she’s easily soothed, eats like a champ and has just started smiling! Here they are together after a few days of getting to know each other. When I pulled out my camera, my sister said the typical things, worried she didn’t have any makeup on, hadn’t showered, looked a mess….all the things new mommas say. But look how beautiful and happy she is! These priceless first moments captured forever.
I don’t know any other way to say it: Watching my sister become a Momma has been one of the greatest joys of my life. I couldn’t be happier than I am for her, for us. Life is so beautiful. We are so lucky to call this sweet baby ours!!
